Currently, the medical service is battling against several problems in the direct care of bedridden patients. The moving of patients can cause physical injury to caregivers and is a tedious and time-consuming process that requires several caregivers at the same time. Today’s hospital beds are awkward to manage and provide no assistance to the caregiver in daily routines such as the changing of sheets, the turning or moving of a patient on the bed or from one bed to another. There is, therefore, a great need for a substantially improved and new type of hospital bed. A prototype of the product, product PuzzleBed has shows improved working conditions for the caregiver and a less demanding hospital stay for the patient.
