New type of micro-mobility vehicle for active mobility support

Arnela Hadzisakovic

We want to complement existing products in micro mobility with a vehicle adapted for those groups in society who due to age, illness or injury are not able to use a bicycle, electric scooter or other vehicles that require balance. Our solution also complements existing assistive vehicles by combining walking with electrical drive, which provides increased walking capacity, independence, health and at the same time reduces the number of car journeys.

Eco-friendly lubricant stabilized by crude oat oil

Solmaz Hajizadeh

To protect the next generations and our nature, we need to replace fossil-based products with new eco-friendly ones as fast as possible. Lubricants and coolants are one of these materials. The global eco-friendly lubricants market size will reach over 4.5 $ billion by 2027 (<3% of the total market). We challenge ourselves to formulate a new competitive biodegradable lubricant based on local plants with low production cost but great potential.

Developing prototype of cheap, precise and rapid field phenotyping robotic device that can help in breeding new crop varieties adoptable to changing climate

Ajit Nehe

Breeding new crop varieties need screening for high yielding phenotypic traits under field conditions for thousands of genotypes at many locations. These screenings are time consuming, laborious, expensive, lack precision and consistency. Existing phenotyping techniques are expensive and lack precision because of the inability to take measurements inside the crop canopy. The proposed innovative technique will use robotic, spectral sensors, and artificial intelligence to solve these problems.

Logic programming as a tool for knowledge representation and scientific guidance – An education for researchers

Department of Psychology, Lund University

The purpose is to offer academic researchers in various subjects (in Sweden and internationally) training in how logic programming can be used to create more accurate theories, to draw more accurate conclusions and to generate new knowledge. In the long run, this is important because scientific theories are used to help people, improve societies and improve the natural environment. The idea is for researchers to be able to buy the training package at a reasonable price.

Stay cool without fossil fuel

Marwa Dabaieh

I want to help with my experience with climate conscious design to reduce the suffering of vulnerable population due to heat stress by offering an eco-cooling system that is healthy, user friendly, budget friendly and climate friendly for Swedish climate and Swedish market. Children will be unable to focus on studying or adults to be productive and mortality rate will increase among seniors and people with special needs who stay indoor majority of the time.

Ducks in the head

Kristianstad University

The project proposes a new conceptual framework for representing individual reactive and reflective behaviours in computer software. This meets the type of problems that arise when using ANN, where these networks contribute to reactive decisions, but lack support for deviating reflective decisions. The proposed conceptual framework fills the gap between these two aspects and contributes to new solutions with usefulness in academic problem areas, as well as industrial.

Processing of cellulose-based waste textiles by treatment with an inorganic ionic liquid

Lund university

The purpose of the project is to study reactor design as well as rheological and warming conditions to streamline and optimize resource utilization in the processing of textile waste with an inorganic ionic liquid. This must be done with a kneading reactor that is capable of processing materials with very high viscosity under a wide range of process conditions. In this way, we can contribute to better utilization of a currently very underutilized and abundant waste, as well as a more sustainable society.

Microchannel gradient centrifugation to measure single-cell density

Richard Soller

I want to develop an instrument for precise, fast, and easy-to-use time-resolved determination of particle densities with single cell resolution. I envision that this tool can be employed in basic biology and in the medical field to study cellular processes which in many cases affect cell density. Further, accurate information about the density at single cell level will become an important tool to me and others in my research environment where we work extensively on acoustic cell separation
