Development and verification of a new applicator solution for silicone stents in the lower airways
Anders Näslund
The aim is to enable the further development of a new applicator concept for silicone stents that addresses the clinical limitations of current technology. The project will improve the conditions for safer and more reliable treatment of patients with severe airway stenosis, whilst laying the foundations for intellectual property protection and future commercialisation.
Improved comfort and functionality in footwear
Henrik Bjursten
I see myself as a creative person, and my passion has always been to develop things and generate new insights. I have also had a keen interest in different types of shoes, and my wife thinks I have too many pairs. Combine these traits with my medical expertise, and you have the foundation for this innovation. What drives me now is that I see we can create value with VPECS and that we have the chance to build a strong Lund-based company around the idea.

Skåne Crop Sentinel: portable early-warning diagnostics for crop disease
Muhammad Awais Zahid
Plant disease management is often reactive because diagnosis is slow, forcing growers to spray preventively. This project aims to enable rapid, on-site pathogen detection so actions can be timely and targeted, reducing unnecessary chemical inputs and yield losses across Skåne’s crop systems. The immediate usefulness is a validated prototype and field data that de-risk a larger scale-up and funding pathway.
Using Laser-Technology to Monitor Biodiversity & Support Agriculture, Forestry.
David Dreyer
We aim to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial application by validating the need for real-time insect monitoring in Skåne’s agricultural and protected sectors, with global scaling potential. Insects underpin ecosystem health and food security, yet current methods are slow and costly. Our ESL lidars will establish habitat baselines, detect declines and pest outbreaks, and support conservation, stakeholders, and a future startup.
Software that streamlines the sale of second-hand products
Minikit AB
The goal is to be able to develop and complete a software program that reduces the time spent per second-hand product handled by the company. The goal is for Minikit to be able to reduce the time expenditure by 30% and be able to offer this software to other (usually) small start-up companies in the second-hand trade, which can then become profitable more quickly.

Developing new radiation protection glasses in dentistry
Carina Wihlborg
To improve the work environment for all dental staff in Sweden and hopefully worldwide, as there are currently no good protective glasses for UV and blue light in the profession. According to studies, we run a high risk of developing several different chronic eye diseases if we do not use proper protective glasses.
TECHSHIP
HETCH AB
The goal of Techship is to create role models and build bridges between young people in different neighbouhoods and the business world. What we add in 2023 is an impact focus. We will invest in that young people will solve our global sustainability challenges where these are generated in knowledge-intensive startups. This is done through the same methodology that Techship has today. In addition, we want to attract young talent to Skåne. The goal will then be for Techship to have an impact focus that reaches out nationally but takes place regionally in Helsingborg.
Permaculture for Sustainable Cities
Los Perros Urban Farming
The goal is to create a long-term sustainable agricultural system that provides both economic stability and ecological benefits. LPUF will become a place for education and research, attracting trainees and offering practical training in permaculture and agroecology. We will also contribute to the city’s vision of a self-sufficient and environmentally conscious food system.
Qfix – digital platform for repairing and caring for textiles, shoes and leather goods
Qfix AB
We want to contribute to a more sustainable textile consumption by making it easier for consumers and brands to repair and reuse textiles. Thus, contributing to goal 12 in the global sustainability goals. Further we also want to contribute to goal 10, reducing inequality by offering new jobs in Sweden, especially to skilled tailors who have immigrated to Sweden and who in many cases have difficulty entering the labour market. Finally, we want to build a good service / company that can create growth.
Novel Emulsion Systems for a Healthier World: Pioneering Sustainable and Natural Delivery of Bioactives
Emulsi Biotech AB
We believe in a shift towards sustainable plant-based emulsion systems and see a gap in the market for our patented solution. We want to commercialize our product, a sustainable encapsulation system, initially targeting omega-3 and iron supplementation. We apply for funding to develop our idea into a prototype with long shelf-life and proven functionality. This is needed to continue our work towards attractive products on the market and will be crucial for future funding.
Digitised Adapted Support
Anpassat Stöd Sverige AB
The purpose of the prototype is to identify, categorise and systematise the knowledge that exists among parents of children with functional variations (LSS) and concretise these knowledge assets in a new digital format. Adapted Support has developed a methodology that involves initially carrying out a needs analysis of the whole family’s situation. This is the part to be developed in the first prototype. The prototype will result in a digital model that can be applied on a larger scale.

BarnMat – helps families with an appetite!
Kajsa Lamm
The purpose of the project initially is to help parents to a stable meal situation, right from the start. If you as a parent can leave it to the child to decide how much and in what way the child eats, you can also be sure that the child in most cases gets enough to grow and develop in a healthy way. With knowledge and joy, the whole family will thrive!

Early detection of plant pathogens using microfluidic chips
Erik Karlsson
With the microfluidic chip, we want to enable early detection and diagnosis of plant pathogens to enable precision spraying. Detection is made possible before a disease appears, which saves the harvest while allowing the drastic reduction of the use of chemical spraying. We will establish and expand networks with farmers and experts for prototype testing and future development of both product and service. We will verify the business model and technical suitability.
Electro-immunotherapy: A drape-electrode technology
Roger Olsson
The goal is to develop a minimally invasive technique that, using our malleable, highly conductive electro-material, both removes tumours and trains the immune system in real time. By injecting the hydrogel in situ, we can fight cancer more effectively and gently for the patient. The aim of this specific grant is to protect the rights of the unique material.
