The importance of sleep, in illness and in health

Pernilla Garmy

Sleep difficulties are a gigantic problem, that generate suffering for the individual and a cost for society. Many of the problems are caused by a lack of knowledge within the healthcare system and the public at large. There is a great need to inform about how sleep problems can be alleviated. Through conferences, open digital seminars and lectures, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals will be able to acquire the tools to provide adequate support.

The image of Sweden – how Wikipedia shapes the image of Sweden

Johan Jönsson

Wikipedia is one of the world’s most widely used sources of information. By using the encyclopaedia, people form an understanding of the world. Nevertheless, most people know very little about how it works – and those who write rarely bring up their thoughts on images and image building. Images play a big role in how we perceive a subject – does the image of a suburb show neat greenery in July or a dingy street in November? Understanding this is an important educational mission and matters to our society.

Charlotte Sennersten

I want to be able to devote my time to compile my and Skåne company’s AI knowledge with Mobile Heights in book form. I want to take stock of how companies look at AI. How I have worked with AI personally. How academia looks at AI and what students see AI as. An AI time document that I can use in an AI course that will be a stand-alone course that anyone can apply for.

Ramels väg 47. The rise, fall and transformation of a stairway

Jens Sjölander

The aim of the project is to make a documentary film portraying a stairway and the people who live and have lived there. The documentary film invites viewers to explore and challenge some of the beliefs and prejudices that have come to characterize the place. Why did people who lived there move? How do people who live there today view the area, the people who lived there before and me? Am I also then a Ramelsväger (Ramel’s streety)?

Model for a new semi-permanent exhibition about Malmö 1870-today

Malmö Museer

Residents, and in particular school students, in Malmö and Skåne gain a better understanding of the impact history has on how the city, and the world, look today. An added effect is that the model becomes a natural meeting place, and thus a starting point for the museum’s educators in a large and complex exhibition. Furthermore, both institutions get the opportunity to develop methods and stronger collaboration.

Democracy

Påarps grundsärskola

Democracy is very difficult to understand for many and so also for our students who study the subject at primary school. Since it is election year this year, we have chosen to work with this now. The goal is that even our students with disabilities should be allowed to participate in democratic ideas, issues, etc. in an election. To gain an understanding in that everyone can participate and can make a change.

The Nature Detectives – facts meet fiction in children’s books about research

Susanne Pelger

The children’s books about the Nature Detectives will, through facts and fiction, present a picture of contemporary research and researchers. Scientific problem solving is like a detective story shaping how research systematically seeks answers to questions. The purpose is to contribute to a basic understanding of what distinguishes scientifically based knowledge from opinion. In this way, the books can in the long run counteract mythmaking and knowledge resistance, and instead promote education and a society shaped by informed decisions.

“Fake news” – a mobile exhibition about the importance of accurate information

Katedralskolan

We want to influence! We want to spread knowledge regarding questions about fake news, conspiracy theories and misinformation! We want to make a change. To succeed, we believe that you need to inform, instruct and teach the young generation. Today, fewer and fewer people read newspapers or follow the news on radio or television. We hope to be able to help reverse the trend and, above all, inspire others to act in this important democratic work.

Chew on food

Jens Almqvist

The project has three purposes, all of which create societal benefits; 1) to position food as an important societal issue in the transition to a sustainable society, 2) to raise the public’s knowledge of food in a way that can be used in everyday life. It covers many aspects such as: increasing awareness about sustainable food choices; create an understanding of how food is produced and 3) to contribute to disseminating current research on food. This can apply, for example, to sustainable food choices, nutritional content and future meals.

Adult – with the power to change, the obligation to understand and the ability to act

Sara Lundgren

The main purpose is to improve children’s and young people’s equal opportunities to succeed. The organization, Adult will do this by helping, supporting and inspiring adults. I never thought of “someone else” taking care of my daughter, but if I had not had the strength, then I don’t know if there was anyone else and that scares me! I have thought that behind every challenging child is a strong but exhausted adult. I believe in the African proverb: “It takes a whole village to raise a child”

Take me out and get me an ice cream

Gunilla Norrman Fritze

Present proposals for changes that make nursing homes in Sweden more attractive. Homes should offer different kinds of “pedagogy” that revitalizes and creates “meaning” for both the elderly and the staff. Yngve Gustafson, professor of geriatrics at Umeå University Hospital, says that we must “question the palliative care philosophy”. Everyone will benefit if more elderly people are active and feel that they have something more to give even after they have stopped working.

Learn Swedish Culture (Gossner) AB

Increase understanding of Swedish culture and Swedish codes so that immigrants can more easily make Swedish friends, get a job, do well at a job interview. To receive this knowledge already at primary school is extremely important. In addition, if children from other cultures feel that we also invest in them at school it can lead to them also feeling proud of their mother tongue and the culture they bear with them.

REDO- A tool for Commitment,

Skånes skolidrottsförbund

REDO aims to initiate inspiring and motivating efforts and activities for young leaders. The effects of the pandemic have had a major impact on young people’s health and by inspiring and motivating them to get involved in a school sports association, we can create forums for contentment and sense of community. A school sports association is children and young people’s own association. Here they develop their organization and its activities based on their own prerequisites. With a school sports association as a tool, we want young people to find their way back to the sports movement.
