The project aims to develop sustainable value chains for textile and mushroom waste to reduce the environmental footprint of horticulture. By combining SMC with textile waste, a new composting method is created that produces peat-free cultivation substrates. This contributes to circular solutions in the horticultural, textile and mushroom industries, and generates new knowledge on compost quality from a cultivation point of view in relation to the textile material. The project also reinforces our ongoing tests on SMC and cotton textiles.
