Innovations in crop protection: Spray-Induced Gene Silencing technology for sustainable control of gray mold disease on strawberries

Chemicals are used to control disease and fertilization in berry cultivation. I aim to develop sustainable berry cultivation that reduces crop protection chemicals that can persist in food and the environment and increase berry yield and shelf life. As a naturally occurring biochemical, the dsRNA will not leave residue, and using SIGS with a focus on climate change will reduce chemical pesticide use. The Swedish economy and environment will benefit from this reduced environmental impact.
