DXA2FEM: a tool to predict fracture risk in a clinically feasible manner using engineering concepts

The purpose of this project is to enable the tool to become close to the market. Hip fractures in the elderly population are associated with both adverse outcomes for the patients and high costs for the health care system. Pharmacological treatments to prevent fractures exist but are not administered to those who need it due to the low sensitivity in fracture risk prediction. Our tool can identify more people at risk for hip fractures, with benefits for both patients and health care.
