Development of a new computational method to trace antimicrobial resistance at the bacterial strain level

Our goal is to develop a software to trace bacteria carrying antimicrobial resistance genes at the strain level in metagenomics data. Ultimately, our objective is to equip researchers and policymakers with better tools to track and predict antibiotic resistance, leading to improved prevention measures and treatment strategies in both human and veterinary medicine. This project will help build a stronger defence against one of the most pressing challenges in modern healthcare.
