Placenta-derived extracellular vesicles as biomarkers for pre-eclampsia

The project aims to identify biomarkers in STBEVs that can be used to improve diagnosis and prognosis of pre-eclampsia. By identifying the specific molecular signatures of the disease, we can develop methods for personalised risk assessment and earlier intervention, which can reduce the impact of the disease and improve clinical decisions for both mothers and children. Our research has the potential to lead to new screening tools that allow for more accurate and early identification of at-risk patients who can then be followed up and, also given preventive treatment.
