Their escape was possible thanks to refugee and resistance organizations, who opposed Nazi persecution of the Danish people\u2019s Jewish friends and acquaintances. One of the organizations taking part was the Sewing club. It consisted of Danish police officers and a group of Swedish men from Helsingborg. Together they saved 1,400 people.
