The Comic-book city series – by one of its creators
Gunnar Krantz
The story of the comic-book city will be made in the form of a comic-book. Using an autoethnographic/autobiographical method, the project will 1) collect and combine my own recollections and combine these with archival material 2) portray different aspects of how the comic-book city was created in the form of a cartoon 3) make this available to a wide audience in the form of a comic-book that can 4) form the basis for an extended application to explore the comic-book city.
The researcher in the future public sphere
David Larsson Heidenblad
The aim of this project is to create better conditions for researchers in the humanities to take up more space in the Swedish public sphere. Why? Because there is far too much good research that never reaches beyond academia. But also, because there are too many important things happening in society that researchers do not see or understand. As a result, our research tends to become too internal. By building bridges, we can have better research and a wiser public.
Community planning for healthy ageing
Anna Nivestam
The aim is to raise awareness among policy makers and community stakeholders on how information from older people, collected during preventive home visits, can be used for community planning that promotes healthy ageing. By disseminating these insights, the voices of older people can be heard by different actors in society, and older people can be given the opportunity to participate and influence aspects (social activities, housing, services, public transport) of society.
Lecture series at Scanian libraries on how the individual prevents stress-related illness
Lotta Sjunnesson
I want to create a combination of lectures and dialogue that in an easy-to-understand and enthusiastic way gives the audience simple keys that allows them with small steps to feel better in everyday life regarding stress-related illness. If you start changing small things in your life, it can ultimately give you the power to later perhaps make a bigger change. My belief is that with many small steps you can change relatively much.
Operating subsidies
Museum & Arkiv på Kivik
The goal is to continue to grow in the number of members, the number of visitors and the number of bookings of guided walks at both fixed times and on other days. The goal is to continue to put Kiviks Museum and Kivik on the tourist map and to be able to show more people how much the Kivik community has to offer in both nature and culture. The goal is 900 members, anniversary films about our rich association life, more EU projects, more research on and around Kivik.
Dentistry
Shahab Mohammadi
The project aims to increase public oral health education but also its link to general health using social media. Through engaging videos, I want to prevent oral diseases and raise awareness of preventive measures, especially important after the lowering of the age limit for free dental care to age 19. Making scientifically based knowledge accessible and interactive empowers individuals to recognise and take responsibility for their own health.
Växtverket in Naturmolnets neighbourhood garden
Växtvärket Malmö
As cities become more densely populated and climate change creates new challenges, it becomes increasingly important to develop sustainable solutions in urban spaces. The project aims to engage children and young people in co-management of public outdoor environments through hands-on learning, cultivation and climate adaptation. With an active and inclusive approach, we want to develop a place for learning, collaboration and sustainable urban development.
Taking the higher-order perspective – a training day with different groups
Malmö universitet
Perspective-taking is necessary to facilitate dialogues between opposing views and to develop collective intelligence in interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaborations. We now need examples and experiences that illustrate how we take more complex perspectives. We also need new ways to measure and evaluate the level of perspective taking so that we can see and operate from these perspectives to a greater extent.
Permaculture for Sustainable Cities
Los Perros Urban Farming
The goal is to create a long-term sustainable agricultural system that provides both economic stability and ecological benefits. LPUF will become a place for education and research, attracting trainees and offering practical training in permaculture and agroecology. We will also contribute to the city’s vision of a self-sufficient and environmentally conscious food system.
Development of fungi-healed concrete for sustainable infrastructure
Hanbang Zou
My goal is to develop sustainable biomaterials by bringing together experts from different fields and integrating the latest technology to solve real-world problems. To drive commercialisation, I will build and expand networks with industrial practitioners and strengthen my patent application through verification testing and industry feedback.
Electro-immunotherapy: A drape-electrode technology
Roger Olsson
The goal is to develop a minimally invasive technique that, using our malleable, highly conductive electro-material, both removes tumours and trains the immune system in real time. By injecting the hydrogel in situ, we can fight cancer more effectively and gently for the patient. The aim of this specific grant is to protect the rights of the unique material.
Clinical studies of a newly developed ear pipette for improved treatment of ear diseases
ReiBeck Innovation AB
Chronic ear infections are a major problem in developing countries and occur after untreated ear infections with ruptured eardrums, where bacteria form a biofilm that destroys the middle ear. In Sweden, external otitis is common, especially during the summer, and requires cleaning of painful and swollen ear canals. This new plastic pipette can be used for both chronic ear infections in developing countries and external otitis in Sweden, with antiseptic treatment as an alternative to antibiotics.
Energy efficient corrugated cardboard on demand – PTC charges
JML Innovation AB
The project aims to revolutionise today’s conventional corrugated cardboard industry from a sustainability perspective through streamlined logistics, manufacturing & warehousing of corrugated cardboard via the introduction of a customer-oriented on-demand production. Our process is intended to be modular and by utilising parallel equipment we will be able to handle varying order-sizes of packaging.
CIRCUSSPRÅKA – interaction, communication and movement for young children and their carers
Matilda Lindberg
The aim is to promote children’s communication, interaction and movement from birth and to highlight the important role of the carer in supporting the child’s development. Cirkusspråka offers the youngest children and their carers circus activities that strengthen interaction, develop communication and promote movement. The carer is given tools to support the child through circus, play and curiosity. The aim is that the concept will eventually spread to more family centres.
The sculpture park of the future
Skissernas Museum, Lunds universitet
The aim of this feasibility study is to identify the needs, shortcomings and limitations of a future sculpture park. The feasibility study will result in a detailed project description, timetable and budget, as well as in an investigation of possible obstacles and challenges. The long-term goal is to build a world-class sculpture park by transforming one of Lund’s most central parks into a place for interdisciplinary meetings, events, dialogue, recreation and creation.
Exempel-vis: Analytical philosophy through thought experiments
Andrés Garcia
The book is intended to introduce a broad readership to the most central questions of analytic philosophy in an accessible and engaging way. These include what is valuable and moral, how we can understand the nature of consciousness and experience, what is required to interpret linguistic meaning, and so on. Both the questions and their possible answers are presented by means of the tradition’s most vivid and telling thought experiments, while the book actively avoids technical terms and concepts.
The vow of silence
Lennart Rasmusson
What happened in Öresund, in the western parts of Skåne and in the airspace over these parts during the war years is part of our contemporary history. The same applies to all the people who in various ways were actively involved in the events. The aim of the book is to provide knowledge so that what happened is not forgotten.
What do you do at work? Vocational teachers’ essays and young people’s images of professional skills
Maria Johansson
The explicit aim is to highlight the value and importance of vocational skills by publishing a compendium to challenge the oftentimes negative attitude and simplified view that exists in society. The project creates the conditions for encounters between different experiences and representations of professional skills. The compendium will also include a longer preface on professional skills. In relation to this, another goal is to make visible the educational journey where vocational teachers act as flag bearers and meet young people.
Energy is the difference between life and death
Elisabet Hammaburg
The aim of the book is to generate public debate by raising awareness of the role of mitochondria in health and ill health. By raising awareness of the importance of energy production, I want to reduce the stigma surrounding diseases such as fibromyalgia and fatigue syndrome. I want to help change the way those affected are treated, both in healthcare and in society at large.
MSO 100 years – an anniversary book
LSt produktion AB
We create a book that highlights the city’s fine orchestra and talks about the magic of symphonic music. A book for both Malmö residents and those interested in music. It contains five layers. Chronology, In-depth coverage of various phenomena, Pictures, Personal portraits and Live statistics. The focus is on the MSO, but the ambition of the book is for the reader to develop a curiosity for symphonic art in general. The hope is that more and more people will realise how life-enriching symphonic art is.
