Words for Everyone

Maria Karlsson

We aim to publish a book featuring the voices of both pupils and teachers. The book will also include a section on the latest research into DLD and other language difficulties, as well as provide practical tools for the writing process. We have also produced writing templates for text generation that can be used by pupils in lower secondary and upper secondary schools. The writing templates are based on long-term support work carried out with pupils with language difficulties. These writing templates will be included in the book and will be reproducible.

Developing preschool teachers’ socio-emotional relational competence – theorising practice

Katarina Nilfyr

The aim of the project is to develop, test and evaluate an educational model that strengthens trainee teachers’ socio-emotional relational competence and provides them with strategies for managing challenging interaction situations with children whose behaviour may be perceived as demanding, which in the long term can be expected to support children’s capacity for emotional self-regulation and thereby also create the conditions for children’s well-being, development and learning.

The Grammatik25 web platform – development and maintenance

Katarina Lundin

Teachers find grammar difficult to teach, and existing teaching materials are poor and sometimes incorrect. The teaching support I have created takes the pressure off teachers when it comes to grammar and shows them how they can work to help pupils achieve their goals. However, the web platform’s ‘‘grammar-package’’ still has room for improvement, for example through an expanded exercise bank, which is also self-correcting. Furthermore, the platform’s stability, security and accessibility need to be ensured for the coming years.

Stopping acute bleeding: developing a new educational model to enhance decision-making ability under stress

Pragmedics AB

Research shows that people under acute stress lose fine motor skills, experience memory impairment, develop tunnel vision and act impulsively. We aim to develop and test a new educational method for teaching life-saving bleeding control that: is comprehensible under stress, requires minimal prior knowledge, increases actual ability to act, improves memory retention, and strengthens public preparedness. The hypothesis is that intuitive, tactile and action-based teaching provides a significantly better ability to act correctly compared to theoretical instruction.

Homework help in Skåne where it is needed most

Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen

Malmö is a city with great segregation and with several particularly vulnerable areas. We want to finance homework help for students at risk schools in Malmö during the academic year 2022/2023. Each homework-help group consists of 15 students with weak grades who need our support in their studies. To finance this in a school year, we are applying for a SEK 180,000 grant. A homework-help group with fifteen students in a school can make a big difference and not just for the students who are selected to participate.

Building right – learning from advanced theory and real examples

Henrik Danielsson

The project aims at improved cost efficiency and safety for future long span constructions focusing on wooden constructions. During the past year, the risk of collapse due to instability problems has been highlighted for several large wooden buildings in Sweden and (at least) one building has collapsed. Through the development of teaching materials on instability phenomena, the level of knowledge of designers can be improved and thus more efficient and safer buildings can be designed.

Peace and quiet to study for students with norm-breaking behaviour

Hanna Dresler

Our hope is that we can reduce aggressive and disruptive behaviour, which can be a risk factor for future abuse of, for example, tobacco, alcohol and drugs (ANT) and (ASPD) antisocial personality disorder, affective behaviour and in the long run crime. Today’s high school does not have the tools and resources needed to cope with these students. By using Good Behaviour Game & Inclusive Behavioural Support in School, schools can acquire concrete tools.

AI help in schools

Twimny AB

Many students find it difficult to keep up in school. If you have difficulty learning a language, e.g., English, you need someone who actively explains words and sentences. With homework, you often don’t have this opportunity because you can’t get hold of your teacher. We want to investigate whether AI can bridge this and actively help students with difficulties to do better in school. We will focus on students in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas who often do not have the same help from home that they may need.
