Effect of physical activity on bone strength during growth

This project aims to model femoral strength from ages 7–18 in all 496 POP (Pediatric Osteoporosis, a unique cohort with yearly follow-up of children from Malmö region) participants using finite element simulations. It will assess how physical activity shapes strength by comparing high and lowactivity groups. The work will yield the first detailed trajectories of mechanical bone adaptation in youth, showing how early-life loading builds long-term bone strength.
