The global AI infrastructure is becoming dependent on limited computing technologies (such as GPUs and TPUs) that are manufactured in only a few countries. We suggest an alternative computing approach which, in the long term, might provide technological diversification. By placing our work at the frontier of physics-inspired computing, we envision this project as an early step toward building expertise, a patent portfolio, and launching a DeepTech Optical AI company in Sweden.
