The project aims to develop “Tendo glove” system – a unique solution that creates intuitive control. The aim is to optimize control to create a good grip. The project also aims at giving Tendo AB a strong market position, as the innovative solution provides an incredibly improved user experience in relation to existing solutions, as confirmed by several medical experts.
Bioinspired Autonomous Navigation

The purpose is to investigate how we can use animal models from biology to construct methods, algorithms and systems for real- time autonomous navigation, map making and localization. The methods will primarily be based on image data and specifically target the hard, but important, case of low light levels, giving low signal-to-noise ratios in the data. There are a number of industrial areas where navigation has become increasingly relevant. In the automotive industry several manufacturers already have released cars with self-driving features Mobile phones and drones come equipped with cameras and additional sensors, with potential for consumer applications such as navigation, wayfinding and augmented reality.

Movium’s plant database Movium Plantarum was launched in 2010 and is a development of the database Swedish Dendrology (CD-ROM) from the 1990s by Sweden’s leading plant experts. Dendrology was a research project that run several years where over 1,000 trees and shrubs were described based on 17 unique plant characteristics, such as light conditions, flowering time, autumn colour and soil conditions. Movium Plantarum is a web-based database of plants for gardens, parks and landscapes that describe important features that have a bearing on how a plant can be used. It is a search tool for project leaders, planners, nursery assistants, landscapers, administrators, teachers and students. The purpose is to make this knowledge accessible to a wider target group and thus create conditions for vegetation knowledge to meet technical and architectural expertise.

To achieve climate goals, we need to radically reduce the consumption of meat and dairy products.
This at the same time as proteins, that many associate with meat and milk, are perceived as a major nutrient. Proteins are also found in plants, and many agree that the food-industry is facing a protein shift, a transition from animal to vegetable proteins. Raw materials should be climate-positive. Leguminous plants contribute, for example, to nitrogen fixation in the soil, which reduces the need for nitrogen fertilizers / pesticides for the plants themselves, but also to the surrounding landscape and successive cultivation. The goal is to create, with functional proteins, a brand-new type of vegetable, climate smart cheese that is like our classic milk-based cheeses.
Can health symptoms when staying in a building damaged by damp be eliminated with the help of an emissions trap?

Damp-damaged building materials can emit different substances into indoor air and it is suspected that such emissions can cause symptoms such as asthma, skin problems, fatigue etc. The project will help clarify this possible relationship. If it appears that the symptoms are eliminated or reduced sharply when emissions are stopped, measures to minimize such emissions should be given higher priority in the public health sector.
New construction of an electrically amplified string instrument
To construct a string instrument that is basically intended to produce an acoustic tone quality through electric amplification is not a simple story. Part of the basic problem is diverting the energy the bow produces when it sets the string in vibration. In 2001, a 5-stranded prototype was developed and given the name electric viola grande. The existing prototype has already changed the whole concept of how electrified string instruments can be constructed. The sound problems which occur in a traditional electric string instrument, have in principle been solved with a unique construction which preserves its dynamics, sound variations and tonal characteristics. The instrument has great potential to develop both string pedagogy and concert styles. It also puts Swedish innovation in the building of instruments on the global map.
Development of high-efficiency solar powered water desalination

The project will conduct R & D as well as verification of an efficient solution to water shortages in crisis areas. It is estimated that the unit can produce 3-4 times the daily requirement of drinking water per day and the purpose of this project is to demonstrate that the design is reliable and can meet its goals. In addition to the fact that the desalinator itself will meet demands for sustainability, affordability, durability and reliability, it will also layout an approach that integrates environmental and social impact.
